Cabinet doors DIYで扉作成

DIYキッチン作成はあとちょっとで完成です！まだキャビネットの扉と引き出しも作らないといけないです。

The DIY kitchen is almost complete - only the cupboard doors and drawers are left to make!

▲ 扉には18mmの化粧板（アイリスオーヤマ製）とイケアの「BESTA」（2個で1000円）のヒンジを使いました。

I used these push-open cupboard hinges from Ikea ($10 for 2), and 18mm white wood veneer panels (from my local DIY store) for the doors.

▲ キッチンのために10枚の扉も作らないといけないんですが、その上に家の洗面台などにも追加の6枚も必要ですね。ということは作成が結構時間かかりそうですね。ヒンジの位置を間違いないようにテンプレートを作りました。これは３Dプリンターで作りました　－　確かに便利！

I needed to make 10 doors for the kicthen, in addition to 6 more for various other projects around the house, so I wanted to make a jig for the holes to save me some time and get it accurate. So I quickly knocked up this jig (again in the free modelling software "Sketchup"), and 3D printed it.

▲ 化粧板にテンプレートをクランプで固定して、ルーターでちょうどいい深さまで穴をあけます。ルーターがずれないなのに役に立ちました。

Once the jig is clamped to the panel on the guidelines, it's a simple matter to carefully use a router to scoop out the required depth hold for the hinges. The jig prevents the router from slipping and ruining the panel!

▲最後にネジ用の穴をドリルで開けます。

The 2 holes for screws are also marked on the jig.

▲ 優しくハンマーで叩いて、ネジを入れます。これで完成。結構時間の節約でした。

A quick tap with a hammer and the screws can go in. All done!
